I was just wondering how many of you guys are gonna be competing in this competition here in the next month so.
Cuero will be in Austin on February 20th, and we've actually won state (we're 3A- in whatever subdivision JETS throws us into) for the past two years, so we're hoping to continue that tradition even without science phenom Gary Binder (and the rest of the kids that have won first team Science at State for the past two years). Even if we don't, I know we'll have fun because JETS is always a blast.
Last year my Varsity B team (who got 3rd; Varsity A got 1st) would have won the costume contest if we hadn't shown up so late. We all came decked out in our most gangsta apparel- basketball jerseys and baggy sweatpants and the likes. One of my friends actually had a chain necklace with an eight inch clock on it. We were passing a nerf basketball around during the test and acting like we knew how to break dance during the breaks. It was classy; our principal was proud (heh).
Anyway, my coach was going over the rules and found out we won't be able to use TI-89's or 92's this year. Is anyone else bummed out about that? Without a solve function, we might actually have to do the quadratic equation manually again. I'm scared (and as a certain someone might say in a certain movie adaptation of a certain book, I'm probably "not nearly frightened enough").
